# IronCrew > IronCrew is an open-source Rust runtime for Lua-defined AI agent crews, distributed as a single binary under the MIT License. It supports CLI and HTTP operation, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, tool approval gates, and durable coordination. The website explains product choices; the runtime repository documentation is the authority for APIs, configuration, and compatibility. Documentation on main follows the current code; consult a release tag for version-specific behavior. Comparison pages are dated snapshots. Follow the latest-release link rather than assuming a version from historical provenance evidence. PostgreSQL provides shared durable coordination, not distributed Lua execution. Run execution stays with its owning process; cross-replica human-input delivery does not imply execution failover or exactly-once external effects. Consult the storage and multi-replica contracts for requirements and limits. ## Runtime documentation (Markdown) - [Getting started](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/README.md): Installation and first crew. - [HTTP API](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/rest-api.md): Run endpoints, human input, and server-sent events. - [Tools](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/tools.md): Built-in tools and approval controls. - [Providers](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/providers.md): Provider configuration and supported API surfaces. - [Conversations](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/chat.md): Stateful conversations and dialogs. - [Storage](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/storage.md): Storage backends and PostgreSQL support policy. - [Multi-replica contract](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/multi-replica.md): Ownership, fencing, and durable coordination. - [HTTP scaling](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/http-scaling.md): Routing, admission, and process-local limits. - [Deployment](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/cloud-deployment.md): Cloud deployment and operational configuration. - [Sandbox](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/docs/sandbox.md): Lua execution boundaries and restrictions. ## Product website - [IronCrew](https://ironcrew.work/): Product overview and operating surfaces. - [How it works](https://ironcrew.work/how-it-works): Run ownership, human checkpoints, tools, and deployment boundaries. - [Why IronCrew](https://ironcrew.work/why-ironcrew): When to choose a standalone runtime and when a library is a better fit. - [IronCrew and IronFlow](https://ironcrew.work/agentic-automation): Routing work between deterministic workflows and agentic decisions. - [IronCrew vs CrewAI](https://ironcrew.work/compare/crewai): Dated comparison with source citations and tradeoffs. - [IronCrew vs LangGraph](https://ironcrew.work/compare/langgraph): Dated comparison with source citations and tradeoffs. - [Enterprise services](https://ironcrew.work/enterprise): Direct maintainer support, integration, and deployment services. - [Security](https://ironcrew.work/security): Trust boundaries, public evidence, and vulnerability reporting. - [Contact](https://ironcrew.work/contact): Talk to an IronCrew engineer. ## Optional - [Source code](https://github.com/skitsanos/ironcrew): Public runtime repository. - [Latest release](https://github.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/releases/latest): Current published release and downloads. - [Examples](https://github.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/tree/main/examples): Runnable Lua crew examples. - [Evaluation methodology](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/main/evaluations/crew-effectiveness/README.md): Harness boundaries and evaluation evidence. - [Security policy](https://github.com/skitsanos/ironcrew/security): Vulnerability disclosure instructions. - [Sitemap](https://ironcrew.work/sitemap.xml): Indexable website pages.
